We understand design to be the conscious shaping of our environment, taking into account social, political, cultural, ecological and economic contexts. In doing so, we are particularly concerned with our responsibility for a future worth living. With this understanding, the Industrial Design 1 department places itself in the design history tradition of the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
