What’s in a Walk

„It’s going to be the sunny side from now on. Get out, all of you.“ (Frank O’Hara) Being fascinated with walking, my diploma project is an homage to this seemingly simple practice. In telling a story about the cultural history of walking along the lines of its prerequisites – free time, accessible space and a body free from restraints – I try to capture the political power walking holds as well as the simple joy of moving through the world at 5 km/h – chatting with friends, drifting, taking breaks and exploring.
