Packaging for cat products designed to be repurposed as toys, playhouses and other items after use. This ensures that the material, particularly wood fibres, remains in the recycling loop for a longer period before disposal.

 >DO YOU BELIEVE IN LIFE AFTER LOVE< explores the potential afterlife of bulky waste materials, specifically PUR foam mattresses. With around 40 million mattresses discarded each year in the EU and limited recycling strategies, this results in an enormous amount of waste. However, by re-defining material requirements, their lifespan can be significantly extended. This exploration has resulted in a monomaterial lounge seater. Rather than high-end products, these seaters serve as a tangible reminder of the vast amounts of material discarded without being recycled.

Cooperation Station is a height-adjustable worktop which can transform into a dining table. The project suggests an alternative to rigid built in kitchen units. By detaching the work surface it opens up a space for working together. It allows for many people to work simultaniously, pay attention and prepare a meal as a joint effort.

SCROCHA is an upholstered chair without foam or springs. The fabric is one strip simply fiddled through the rods and twisted until tensioned enough so you can comfortably sit on it.  The idea was to make a sitting furniture that keeps itself as long as possible in use and that should make it easy for the owner to renew or replace its worn parts and adapt it to any new living situation.

As designers, we have the obligation to rethink how we create, use, and ultimately dispose of products. The traditional linear model of production and consumption—take, make, use, dispose was never sustainable. We need to shift towards a circular economy that designs out waste, keeps products and materials in use, and regenerates natural systems. The goal is to create a closed loop system where resources are continuously cycled through reuse, refurbishment, remanufacturing, and recycling, reducing the need for new raw materials and minimizing environmental impact.
